Dość długo zastanawiałem się jaki wariant wybrać. Miejsce startu oczywiste - Cardiff Bay i wizyta w ulubionym Brecon Beacons. Jednak czy potem jechać prosto przez Francję, Benelux i Niemcy i wylądować na mecie po kilkunastu dniach, czy też zafundować sobie prawdziwą przygodę i zobaczyć miejsca, w których nigdy wcześniej nie byłem. Samolot odpadł, autobus też więc po co się rozdrabniać na ledwie 1600km. 3200km wygląda o wiele lepiej. Sama odległość to też żaden wyczyn. Postawiłem więc sobie poprzeczkę odrobinę wyżej i po drodze przez Francję, Włochy, Austrię, Niemcy i Czechy, pokonać trzy najwyższe drogowe przełęcze alpejskie: Col de l'Iseran (2770m), Passo di Stelvio (2755m), Col Agnel (2744m) a dla zabicia czasu najwyższą przejezdną drogę Alp - Cime la Bonette (2802m). Zanim jednak dojadę do drugich co do wysokości gór Europy odwiedzę zamki Loary, pustkowia Owernii i morze Śródziemne w okolicach Montpellier. Za przełęczami czekają mnie cukierkowe krajobrazy austriackich Alp, przepiękne Monachium, potem już tylko czeskie Sudety i cel mojej podróży - Wrocław.
I have been thinking for a long time which way seems to be the best. The start is obvious - Cardiff Bay and the visit at the Brecon Beacons. Shall I ride straight on through France, Benelux and Germany and arrive at the finish after around a fortnight or fund myself a real adventure and go to places that I have never been before? A plane is not under discussion anymore, and a bus as well so there is no reason to bogged myself down for 1000 miles as well, 2000 looks much better. Just the distance is not an achivement. I decided to lift the bar a bit higher and on my way through France, Italy, Germany, Austria and Czech Republic to conquer three the highest road passes in Alps: Col de l'Iseran (2770m), Passo di Stelvio (2755m), Col Agnel (2744m) and as an extra - the highest driven-through road of Alps - Cime la Bonette (2802m). However before I reach the second highest mountains of Europe I am gonna to visit the void of Auvergne and Mediterranean Sea by the Montpelier coast. Then there are the sweet landscapes of Austrian Alps, beautiful Munich, Czech's Sudety Mountains and the finish at Wroclaw in Poland after the passes.
